A Message to You

Prior to establishing my advisory practice I have had the opportunity to spend almost two decades working in a number of capacities within the financial sector: accountant, credit analyst, financial analyst, stockbroker, banker, financial planner, portfolio manager, as well as adjunct professor of finance. I learned that in most corners of the financial services industry, my loyalty was expected to remain with my employer – not with my client.

As a young stockbroker, the only regular guidance I received was from the morning pep-talk which usually focused on the finer points of “dialing-for-dollars.” As a bank manager charged with meeting corporate earnings targets, I was expected to instruct my staff to steer our customers’ funds into the bank’s lowest yielding deposit products.

With my practice I am able to abide by the straightforward notion of treating others as I would want others to treat me. This means I believe in serving you objectively and competently and by aligning my interests with yours.

That’s why my practice is independent and fee-only.
